How to Choose a Puppy
If you’re going to choose a puppy to bring home, there are many factors you need to consider. For example, if you have children, you should be concerned at how well the dog will co-exist with them. Also, are there any other animals currently in your household? Will the dog get along with a dog already in your home, a cat or another animal? These are just some of the things you need to think about when choosing a puppy.
In addition to some of the questions above, you have to think about what you want in your puppy. Does it have to be a purebred? If so, your options will be limited. Otherwise, you can choose between mixed breeds or just plain old mos.. purebreds are going to be your most expensive choice, and mutts will be the cheapest. Mutts can be just as lovable, adorable and loyal as a mixed or purebred dog.
Also, consider the size of the dog. Do you prefer big dogs or small dogs? Depending upon your home, what you wish to have the dog for, and other considerations, will factor into whether you look for a big lower small dog. If you have a big dog, you better have a place for them to run and play outside, or the dog will be miserable.
If you’re looking for a dog with a certain kind of personality, be aware the puppy doesn’t genuinely develop a personality until around seven weeks. So if you’re choosing a puppy, realize that until they reach seven weeks, it will be hard to tell what they’re personality is like. Do you want a shy dog, or a very social and loving dog?
If you are choosing a puppy, you have several locations you can look for one at. First, you can ask around and see if any of your friends or acquaintances know of anyone who’s given away a dog or puppy. Also, you can contact your local animal shelter to see what they have available. Finally, there are many websites on the Internet that you can search and find a puppy on.
